I can see two problems that may have occurred before Epstein death .

He was allocated a "cellmate" . Why was the cellmate withdrawn ?

Sex offenders are usually single cell only inmates .

Perhaps the "cellmate" relayed a message from other prisoners describing what they were going to do him when they got the chance .

Epstein soon realised what his options were. He wasn`t a garden variety criminal . It wasn`t hard for him to manipulate procedure .
