Its not that simple. There are some legitimate reasons why this is the case even in the same roles. One of the biggest reasons is flexibility, woman often exchange lower pay for more flexible roles. A GP 9 to 5 at a clinic will be paid less that a dr on call at all hours at a hospital. Yet this will show up as a "same job" gap. I would like to see comparisons to woman who have no children or are the primary family earner since the beginning, I suspect the differences would be very small.
