Nothing more interesting than watching a bunch of men talk about pay rates and pay equity issues with all their bias showing.
There are two issues. First is whether women get paid the same for doing the same job. The second is how jobs that are filled predominantly by women are valued.
in the first case there are of course plenty of reasons - or rather excuses. They aren’t as good. They don’t work as hard. They don’t work long hours. They have babies. and so on
in the second their is because a society with males making decisions decided that jobs women do simply aren’t as important as the jobs men do.
in which case stop griping about aged care, the state of the health system, teaching and education. Though maybe keep griping and work out which gender actually runs (or is it fails to run) these sectors. Whoops. I think it’s men.
