So far all I've seen here presented as evidence are a small number of trades, with JP Morgan apparently lending stock to Macquarie. I am by no means an apologist for Macquarie but so far I don't see anything to suggest they are the major player or even one of the major players in this shorting. Macquarie could just as easily be acting as intermediary or broker on behalf of one or more of their clients, could they not?
