SG,
To ease the bemusement of those, like myself, who read this forum out of interest in information to be found here from contributors, like yourself, who appear to make a pretence of knowing what they are talking about, could you please supply a reconciliation between the following: what you just wrote about Eskom Holdings Ltd, South Africa, and an apparently contradictory quote from Ergo's website?
1. What you wrote:
" ... and following their acrimonius split from Linc under Bond's control, Ergo fired up Eskom's Majuba trial. It hasn't gone anywhere because it has run into the same problems the Chinchilla pilot burn did."
2. From Ergo's website:
January 20, 2007 - First Underground Coal Gasification Plant in Africa - in Operation!
Mpumalanga, South Africa, 10:50 p.m. (GMT 20:50), Saturday, January 20, 2007: The first Underground Coal Gasification plant in the African continent successfully starts operations. The Majuba UCG Project, located in Mpumalanga, South Africa, is producing high quality syngas to be used for power generation in the existing 4.2 GW power plant. The project, based on Ergo Exergy's proprietary εUCG technology , is developed by Eskom Holdings Ltd. The Majuba UCG Project is unprecedented in its scale, geological complexity, and pioneering nature.
Much obliged,
edd
