Many thanks for the links. Seems like the wheels at Majuba - a very large project - are grinding surely but slowly. No project timeline to final commerciality is given, though it was apparently outlined at the 2008 Houston UCG conference.

Current proposals include a 40MW demonstration unit by mid-2013 and a series of six 350MW commercial power plants to come online late 2017 to early 2020. Not sure why it's taking that long but certainly the article says nothing to suggest that the project is stalled due to running into "the same problems the Chinchilla pilot burn did", whatever they were, as stated yesterday by SG.
