Eritreans will likely go for uprising : Opposition party
    Saturday, 26 March 2011

Addis Ababa, March 26 (WIC) ? The Eritrean Democratic Unity Front, which is one of the Eritrean opposition political parties, said that the current socio-economic and political conditions in Eritrea will eventually lead the country to a similar chaotic situation that emerged in North African and Middle East countries.

Political and Propaganda Office Head and Executive Body Member of the Front, Dawit Mezgebu, told WIC today that the prevailing mass killings, one rule political system, naked human rights violation, corruption and economic crisis in Eritrea will unquestionably lead the country to crisis and mass uprising.

He said Eritrea is now a hot bed for its own citizens owing to Isaias Afwerki?s merciless rule that turned the nation to a terrorism command center.

?I believe that the Eritrean people will make a historical mass revolution against the dictatorial Isaias regime as he is the known violator of human rights in the world,? he said.

Asked why uprising becomes late in Eritrea, Dawit mentioned the tight security control, the cruelty of the persons in power and exodus of hundreds of thousands of Eritrean youth as a reason for the delay of the revolution.

?Fearing the uprising in most of Arab countries, the tyrant Isaisa has taken merciless control measures on the people as well as ordered media not to report the case of the uprising,? he said. ?This will not prevent uprising to erupt in Eritrea eventually?.

?Isaias is amongst the mass dictators in the world who is shamelessly preaching the people that democracy brings riot and it is not essential for Eritrea since he wants to prolong his tyrant rule,? he indicated.

Health centers, schools and development institutions are not currently functioning in Eritrea except military training centers, he said, adding all the ruling party owned media are airing false war propagandas against neighboring nations to divert the attention of the people, he said.

The uprising in the Arab nations have weakened and uncovered the militaristic rule of Isaias who had been receiving billions of dollars and huge military logistics from some of those nations to destabilize its neighboring countries and assist terrorist groups in the Horn of Africa, he said.

?Today the people of Eritrea is suffering from poverty, ignorance, unemployment and unpaid work in the name of national service,? he added.

Dawit finally called on the people of Eritrea to oust the doctorial Isaias regime and the UN Security Council to tighten the sanctions it imposed on the country.

Political Affairs Head of the Red Sea Afar Democratic Organization (RSADO), Yasin Mohammed, on his part said that Eritrean opposition parties are ready to fill the power vacuum and hand over it to the people if mass uprising happens in Eritrea.
