Finally a nice positive thread on here. I'll offer my 2 cents (this post is not financial or taxation advice.).
If you are frustrated with how greedy Australia can be to it's hard working entrepreneurs, you might like Dubai. It's a city that respects people like you.
The city is full of entrepreneurs in all shapes and forms, from countries all over the world. A truly diverse city. Diverse in opinion of thought and critical thinking. What unites everyone is they came to Dubai because of a culture of trying to better themselves and you see this come through in many different ways. It can be a very positive place and refreshing to encounter many other people who are hard working, intelligent and looking to improve their life.
Crime is virtually non existent in a western sense, you can leave your door unlocked in the city. Of course human nature still means crime does happen, but the rule of law is very strong there and you won't see the sort of stuff you would in London for example. Or Sydney these days.
Keep in mind Dubai is an exception to the rest of the UAE both in a few legal ways as well as culturally. And there are downsides to Dubai. It can get very hot at times of the year, there's a lack of greenery and it can be somewhat "soulless" in that the culture of everyone being an entrepreneur is a double edged sword. There's a big focus on making money there.
I hope this helps you at least consider it, if not to live but it exists as a useful place to do business and can be very welcoming. If you make your money online then incorporating there can give you more freedom.
This is a great idea for a thread and I hope others contribute. As nomad capitalist says, "go where you're treated best". Everyone should find a place that suits them personally and has what they are looking for.
