From a competitive perspective it is difficult to imagine one of the majors who have participated in past transactions in Aussie CSG not making a bid.
BG describe their CSG assets as their 'Jewel in the Crown'. IMO it will cost BG MORE by not bidding than letting Shell/PetroChina get gas this cheap. Think about the end result in 3-4 years in terms of unit costs for each of the projects if one is able to acquire inputs at a significant discount to their peers. I'd be shocked if the AOE deal went through on current metrics.
