You're right in many ways with regards to mogul pivoting to a PaaS. Chasing individual subscribers in a crowded market place with a lot of competitors is hard work and not a way to stand out with a USP. The BIG money is with the big brands who can drop a few hundred thousand or millions without putting a dent in their budget.
I think nearly everyone would agree that communication has been poor on all levels but I still have faith in Mike that when ready, he will front up to the camera with something exceptional to show us. Until then, with set backs in rewiredfest that are out of his control there are no doubt some frustrating delays.
You invest what you are prepared to lose in a company like ESH. Hence why if it does work the rewards will be massive!
With regards to the APP, i think mike was prepared to put this on the backburner as there was just too much work without quick remuneration. In other words, there were issues with automated score reporting from one's screen (privacy issues as well) and the fact that many still like playing games on a big screen in NA.
What all that shows is that if it isn't working you must change, you must pivot and be prepared to evolve into something that is not being offered on the market.
Be patient, and remember 'Just because no moves are being posted doesn't mean no moves are being made'!
