The company desperately needed $3m from Monash 12 months ago to move forward and manged to raise the funds via other means (fast finance, Arup bond, placements). So the company has survived to this point without the help of Monash.
Now, the company is seeking to raise about $70m via ALDP funding and private funding. We don't know if other companies (besides Monash) are part of this deal. It is possible there are others.
Is it a big deal if Monash pulls out?
Maybe Monash isn't in the icture to begin with. We are assuming Monash is our 'white night' becase we are just assuming - based on previous announcements.
Back in February, the company was going to go to Korea to follow up on leads. Did they secure any new deals? We don't know but it is possible.
We will have all the answers by mid June. Until then it is all speculation.
