As I mentioned on my previous post that there were two sides of esports;
1) competitive PRO gaming (esports team/s)
2) content creation
It looks GXR have separated the two. In this instance Nigma Galaxy will handle all the competitive PRO gaming side of the business. While Galaxy Racer continue to handle the entertainment side of the business.
Of course there is also real money casual gaming tournament platforms like Skillz which is also being labelled as esports. But in my opinion that is still gaming. All they're doing there is shifting consumer spend from in-app purchases to player wagering hence we don't see Tencent, EPIC & Riot Games entering this type of competitions yet. They'd be killing their in-app purchases. But great for indie games & games unable to make in-app revenue. The key to this type of competition is fast micro transaction payment system as Skillz platform has proven. (Still big business opportunity)
