One should never choose their own successor.. There is a reason wisdom comes with age & experience. Easy rides to the top are not appreciated earned or respected.
There is a ladder in life, and there is no escaping the fact that we need to climb every rung.
Thats why we see these spectacular crashes like Tinkner or Eddie Groves, they managed to get to the top without climbing the rungs, and eventually return to the start.
