Hi Camden, thanks for great post. I spent some time in the insurance industry, and knows some specifics of the business, but will never be able to articulate in the way you did in your post. That's one of the best quality posts I've seen on HC.
Like you, I started buying QBE at around $18. I am quite bullish about the outlook of the QBE business. As you illustrated, the GI industry has been hit hard recently, it may provide some opportunities for QBE to acquire quality business at a bargain price.
The only concern I have is the possible over-confidence of the management, after years of successful acquisitions. The disastrous investment in ELD is the example. I hope it is just my unfounded paranoia.
