Todays published poll shows Labor support has increased to 52%
to the Coalitions 48%.
Thats three polls in a row since the election that gives the lead
to Labor. Will there be 27 more such results which would then
begin to haunt the coalition given that 30 polls in row was used
as a justification to dump Abbott.
Still a long way to go but given the very small majority of the govt
should any by-elections arise for any reason the coalitions tenure
on govt could be in jeopardy. By-elections tend to go against the govt
as it is but this trend to labor would magnify that potential.
Also if the seat of Herbert were to go to another election due to a court
challenge of the result, the likelyhood is that Labor would win it convincingly.
