speaking to david archer from hillgrove, he does not think santos will go the whole hog with esg. also no need to they have a 40% interest at a project level plus their own fields.
importantly its about resourcing share and technical collaboation. in addition gas offtake so meet lng plans. if someone wants esg, santos can sell out at a tidy profit and still maintain a 35% stake in the project.
not to say it won't happen but i would not think so in the near term.
however watch the positive news start flowing from esg - gas to wilga and then reserve upgrades maybe sooner rather than later but certainly no later than end of september. i can be a bit more patient if the share price is north of $1.
