Crustymagyver check out Rule's post on 1/8/09 Post #: 4319710 it provides a good summary of LNG's pros. and as Rule suggests go to the LNG website and read the analysts reports from Paterson & Bell Potter (Rule your not a school teacher by chance?)

Another thought - what effect will the labour demands of Gorgon place on the Gladstone projects. I would have thought that we were more advanced than the other players in terms of securing engineers and contractor to commence works (i.e. engineering and preconstruction work is well advanced/dredging etc...)and therefore we should have a further advantage on the other players.

i notice in the new bulletin:

WA Govt takes credit for Gorgon deal

    ...'Skills shortage'

The project is expected to create 6,000 jobs at the height of construction.

Reg Howard-Smith from the Chamber of Minerals and Energy says the Government will need to address labour shortages.

"There are some skills shortages already in some of the specialised areas," he said.

"We need to take a very strategic approach to people resourcing."

If the project goes ahead, construction is expected to begin next year.
