I think you're right, but they're not the only horse in the race.

Ripple is a bit like ethereum, not just a currency but looking at other uses, blockchain ledger uses etc, as is digital asset holdings.

Australian Banks are also exploring it well and have taken steps to minimise competition in this space over the last few months, unfortunately.

Aside from the currencies already established the link below shows a few companies that are in the space and it is growing all the time.
