Did you end up buying some? I don't think your timing is off. If you are concerned that it is a pump only buy a portion right now. I have recently got in myself having talked about it for way too long. (I wish I had bough immediately at $6)
In the scheme of things I think Ethereum is very undervalued. As more developers get into developing applications that are useful for the end user (something bitcoin has struggled with) then I don't see why Ethereum won't be valued much much higher than what it is.
