IMHO, this is where a few charities are coming from - in some ways they cynically suggest you yourself are individually providing for one child. They give you their name, birthdate and country of origin whilst basically suggesting that by sponsoring a child their is almost a relationship of individual relevance or belongoing via an intermeidate body from one family to another, but the more I look into it, it is a pooling of funds for infrastructure and self sufficiency. That I applaud but I think nay individual should preseent themselves, if possible as a donor to only one organisation.
Also a non for profit organisation is vastly different to a charity and the overheads too somestimes can be brought into question. i.e not all "charities" have an independent board.
I wonlt name the Overeas Fid in question but looking at it objectively, I question it.
I personally will now only vow to provide any charity to one organisation.
You cannot help them all and it would be a very good present to the "grandchild" in question.
