If you are thinking of jumping ship (and who isn't) a word of advice - today's failure seemed to be software glitch with eTrade Pro rather than the servers being slow. Quite a few other trading houses use a very similar platform - just named something different.

If there is one positive to come of this, it is that if/when they fix the system they will be so scared to touch anything at all it may just be stable!
