I presume Etrade is still solvent and is not copying Greece. I once asked ANZ if they guarranteed my funds invested with Etrade. There was no reply. Later a clause came out in the Etrade Client Agreement basically saying no!! I presume as stock is registered with Chess, Etrade can't take that in the event of insolvency, any one know that for sure. I'm sure that it is a simple software problem but after the GFC and some banks in the US and Europe taking haircuts or going broke, one can't be too complacent.
