I just called etrade and was told they are undergoing a system upgrade at the moment.....I asked why do you do this during the trading day.....and was told.....as I said the system is being improved.
Any online stockbroker tha suspends its service to do a system upgrade during market trading hours has to be a joke.
It's a shame really...when the system works etrade is excellent....over the last couple of weeks it has terrible culminating in today's ridiculous system upgrade during the trading day.
Time to move my trading account to a broker that does not treat it's clients like this.
