I never understood why anyone would use E-trade. Compared to all other platform, I hear of E-Trade going down the most, AND your paying like $10++ more a trade for the privelidge.
It always cracks me up when I read the daytraders thread and the so called expert daytraders and people with hearts are using E-Trade. I am sorry but expert daytrader = 1000++ trades per year, so unless you want to give your broker like $10,000 extra a year, to have a slower platform (heaps slower then iress) ......shop around people.
I have been using amscot for 5 years now, never ever ever ever has it gone down. Iress is the fastest platform out there (have tested it against all others simultaneously) AND they offer bulk contract notes which saves me 30 grand++ a year. Given I do 3000++ trades a year, and they offer all the tools any trader/investor needs.
