    Electricity Union backs new Ecobulb
Intermoco announced today that Australia’s most influential electricity union has endorsed Energy Mad’s Ecobulb as the superior, high technology light bulb that will significantly reduce carbon emissions and cut household energy costs.
The Electrical Trades Union of Australia (ETU) has endorsed Ecobulb to replace Australia’s existing inefficient, incandescent light bulbs, which consume large amounts of power of which up to 90% is wasted.
The ETU endorsement will provide a significant impetus to Advanced Energy Ltd’s (AEL) marketing of Ecobulb in Australia. The ETU has stated that it is interested in promoting Ecobulb and encouraging their use in the interests of the environment.
Steve Black, Managing Director of Intermoco said “AEL & Intermoco is delighted to receive this support from the ETU as we begin substantial distribution of Ecobulbs across Australia. Mr. Black said that the Australian Government announced in February, that all traditional, inefficient incandescent light bulbs currently used would be phased out over the next two years, in favour of Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs).
The ETU’s Dean Mighell said the Ecobulb CFLs “are a massive improvement over existing CFLs in that they have a high power factor rating. Ecobulb’s high power factor is important because it results in higher peak load energy saving for electricity Utilities. Use of high power factor Ecobulbs also eliminates the risk of brownouts in distribution areas. Further, the ETU stated that Ecobulb has 4-5 times less mercury content making it much more environmentally friendly.
With the support of the ETU, we know that householders who accept the professional advice to install Ecobulbs from affiliated electricians will benefit from an immediate reduction in power costs of up to 60%, and the environment will also benefit from a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
As already announced, Intermoco has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of AEL which holds the distribution rights for Energy Mad’s Ecobulb in Australia and overseas. Intermoco is also in the final stages of acquiring an equity position in Energy Mad Ltd.
