From what I understand, if I can summarise what you're saying - you're saying that EVs, Wind Turbines, and Electric Motors are going to solve a tiny portion of climate change. I actually agree with you.

    (HCFC GWP of 10,000 is just a lower average from https://www.epa.gov/ghgemissions/overview-greenhouse-gases -> HFCs 14,800, PFCs 12,300, NF3 17,000 and SF6 22,800.

Although CO2 accounts for 76% of total volume released, if you scale for it's effective contribution, CFC replacements account for 92.1%, Methane CH4 5.95% and Nitrous Oxide 1.68%. CO2 is a measly 0.285%.

If you break down in sectors:
    https://hotcopper.com.au/data/attachments/3371/3371734-9697f96d711225c967d3907724f50f8a.jpg

It's pretty clear the worst contributor to climate change is not CO2, but:
    1. 84.71% HFCs: O3 replacements since the Kyoto, Montreal Protocols
    2. 3.68% Other usage of CFC, SF4, Sulfur Hexafluoride SF4
    3. 1.84% SF6 from Electronics Industry
    4. 1.84% SF6 from Electricity Transmission
    5. 1.78% CH4 from Wetlands, Ponds, Rivers
    6. 1.78% CH4 from Oil, Gas, Coal Extraction leakages
    7. 1.33% NO2 from Manure Management, Agriculture
    8. 1.19% CH4 from Manure Management, Agriculture, Livestock
    9. 1.19% CH4 from landfills, biomass burning, wildfires, permafrost
    10. 0.285% CO2 from all sources.

It's clear that REOs won't solve the climate crisis, in which I totally agree, AT FIRST GLANCE! (Keep reading)

You mentioned how Natural Gas was a temporary solution for the US. You can see above CH4 released from Oil, Gas, Coal Extraction and also the usage of NG plants causes 1.78% to climate change. It would be much more sensible to use wind turbines (which uses REOs), solar panels etc.

You mentioned how Nuclear Power Plants are a solution for baseline generation. I actually agree. Safe Generation 4 Reactors (molten salt, sodium fast reactor etc) seem to be safe and a quick effective solution. But a reminder, REOs are used in permanenet magnets, which are used in the turbines inside these reactors.

However, the biggest contributors are still HFCs at 84.71% and the usage of CFCs, Sulfur Hexaflouride SF4 in Electronics, Electricity Transmission insulation which makes another 7.37%. To summarise:
    1. 84.71% HFCs Refridgerators, aircons, fire retardents, solvents, aerosols
    2. 7.37% SF4, CFC Electronics, Electricity Transmission
    3. 2.5% CH4, NO2 from Agriculuture
    4. 1.78% CH4 from Oil, Gas, NG extractin
    5. 1.19% CH4 from landfills, biomass burning
    6. 0.285% CO2 from all sources
    7. 2.165% CO2, NO2, CH4 from other

It's pretty clear we have to solve the issue of aerosols. But how?
    1. Completely phase out all old airconditioning systems / fridges - ie old HFCs and fridges MUST be checked and replaced.
    2. Legislation enforcing air con efficiencies.
    3. Build homes with more insulation, white paint etc
    4. Plant more trees / add more shade.
    5. Use fans and windows. Office spaces need large central fans / air circulation.
    6. Legislation / subsidies to make new HFCs which are not detrimental.

Now WAIT a second, aircons use REOs!!! https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/deciphering-lynas.5955234/page-3You can see aircon sales of the inverted compressor made from NdFeB magnets (circulates the aerosol) took 36% of JL Mag's business, and grew +100% year on year in 2020. Windpower also was 36%, and EVs were a sad last at 13.5%.

Clearly if we were to fix the Climate Change issue, we MUST act immediately on airconditioning and refridgerating units, either by changing the HFCs, making them more efficient, and making old units illegal.

In conclusion, REOs for EVs, wind turbines etc only will fix 0.285% of the climate change problem. The 84.71% made from aircons, fridges and other aerosols needs to be solved immediately - which all require NdFeB permanent magents from REOs!
