suggest you reread the paper as they recovered their REE and it is clear from the report it was profitable. incidentally the alteration to catapleiite which is rare at kvanefelt does not effect the excellent recovery of the Zr, Hf, Ta, Nb, REE etc.
as for processing cost they are lower than the kvanefeld ore as the eudialyte is much less refractory
incidentally etm only recovers about 50% of the uranium and much less of the heavy REE. etm has made no efforts to recover their Zr, Hf, Ta, Nb, W etc
