I wonder if the emergency cabinet meeting has anything to do with the not so good COVID 19 state of play in Australia? Now I know each country has different testing reschemes etc however the total cases between 1 - 14 July 2022 in Australia compared to say USA and Japan tells not a great story! Australia has almost the same cases as Japan with a population of 125 million and a third the cases of the USA with a population of 330 million. Here is to hoping that the new federal government starts to realise that accurate RDT is a progressive way to protect the population and the economy as well as reduce the supply risk of POC testing. Time will tell and if I was a betting man it had be sooner rather than later for this government otherwise we have another muppet show in the ACT.
