Vaccine durability will also become as issue. Most flu vaccines have lost the level of protection they initially offered within about 3 months.
Amazingly, some vaccines offer life long protection. As for vaccines against covid-19, we don't know but breakthrough infections in the previously vaccinated are giving an indication that they may not offer ongoing protection.
Yearly vaccinations and regular mutations coupled with non stop testing, may be the future.
