Jahar, just think about it logically for a moment.
They buy gold in the ground because they don't want to drive POG through the roof.
So, if the POG goes down someone is selling gold (who?), anyway China would stop digging gold out the ground and start buying on market, protecting their hedged position if they have one, and simultaneously driving up the entire value of their horde.
Don't try and make it difficult and assume that two arguments are always equal.
