No way is the U.K. going to ditch the pound for the euro but if they are smart and sneaky (the latter being something all British governments have been expert at)they will have a middle ground.They already have businesses thay will accept either the pound or euro and that is becoming more and more widespread and will work extremely well for them.
Apart from anything else, the resistance of the euro by the British public shouldn't be underestimated; it would be political suicide.
The euro won't be around for too long in any case; i give it 20 years MAX; The euro is a "1 size fits all" currency and it won't last. Not long ago, Italy was speculating & considering going back to the lira and they may regret that they didn't.
