Many thanks for your well considered response Westcott. I feel that on the balance of probability the security risks are likely to be higher in West Africa but am open to reasonable argument to the contrary. My previous post was one of conveyance of an opinion expressed by my Nigerian acquaintance. Having never been to the region I rely on those that have to enlighten me and alert me to the sovereign risk issues. I would think it's generally accepted that Australian security risks are somewhat less than West African.
