if you are doing a big renovation (like I am) and buying both kitchen and laundry appliances, importing from UK is a consideration

I will save about $8000 after sea freight and GST, import duties

downside: lack of warranty (I figure even if a couple of items arrive DOA I will still be way in front, and that scenario is highly unlikely)

the electricals are the same as UK, just need new 3 pin plugs put on the items not hard wired

but you can't import gas appliances as they have different specifications to ours
