Don't be fooled by the recent headlines on "Silicon Anodes", graphite is still the predominant anode material for batteries and will be for many decades. The European Battery Alliance posted the below article on 10th November in relation to Talga's Vittangi graphite mine in Sweden.

    'Supply of graphite from Europe'

There are a number of ASX-listed companies that are in the 'Raw Materials' network (including AGY, AVZ, EGR, TLG, VUL and others) however only EcoGraf and Talga have been included in the EBA's 'Active Materials' network.

The "Silicon Anode" narrative is terrific for marketing but the reality is graphite is and will continue to be the predominant anode material for a long time to come. Thyssenkrupp plans to purchase enough spherical graphite from us (10ktpa) to produce ~370,000 EVs, which means they obviously have a very large customer to place this amount of product to - you can draw your own conclusions as to who the possible customer/s might be.

The market is still valuing EGR as a Tanzanian-based graphite junior as opposed to a soon-to-be supplier of anode active material into the European battery market. That perception will change and when it does the re-valuation of EGR will be dramatic.
