Recent report from Europe - 10th June 2011 - about the energy crisis


Really interesting read about the shortage of energy and how serious they are about covering all bases on this issue. They reckon it is the biggest challenge they face and is paramount to the stability of the region. I can only hope WHE can fast track this asap!

In particular these points:

1. Encourage industry to look at technology that extracts energy from existing in country resources - WHE have this covered with UCG and the stranded coal

2.Note the diagram of the map and days shortage of gas in different states of europe. I think this shows how big an issue this is. doesn't really come into our minds of this happening much in Australia!

3. The amount of gas they are so reliant upon

4.The building of pipelines across europe to interconnect the european nations

5. More funds for technology and development to secure energy in the region.

I can see why WHE have fast tracked this, and good to see a european emerging opportunities fund hopping on board!
