Well, Eurovision has come and gone for
another year. Controversy was never far
away this year and even looked like threatening
the event, but common sense won out as shallow
glitz and glam took precedence over trivial
    human rights and economic issues.

Today we take a behind the scenes look at the
    politics of Eurovision 2012.

A little known fact was that our very own Chris
Ford, alias Fabio, was asked to MC the night but
declined the invitation. However his rumoured love
child JGunter was happy to take up the challenge.

"I recently lost my shirt because of austerity
measures & I felt I had to make a statement."

Officials also had to defend their decision to
cut Borat as MC for the night, while they were
aware it would consolidate diplomatic ties with
a neighbour state, they cited his request to
high-five all the contestants as unacceptable.

This was met with criticism by Euro leaders, many
of which commented that even though nothing is
achieved at their summits, high-fives make them
    feel as though they have.

When asked to comment, Borat said "Azerbaijan
jealous of superior Kazakhstan potassium production
but I put politic aside and wish great success".

Like every Eurovision, the acts themselves were
of the highest order, Rambo Amadeus being the
pick of a star studded lineup.

Social commentators say his far reaching lyrics
may have been pointed at Euro leaders...but were
in awe and say lines like "only one rule/always
stay cool/like a swimming pool" has a place in
    all facets of life.

Then there were the acts that didn't make it.

Greek's socialist leader Evangelos Venizelos said
his rendition of Bat Out of Hell would have "lifted
morale" for the whole Eurozone and it's veto was yet
another slap in the face for the Greek people.

Buoyed by his billionaire status after the Facebook
float, Bono was asked to cameo but declined, adding that:
"he finally found what he had been looking for"

Finally, only the offer of a slimline DVD player could
persuade the Russian grandmother Act to cut the performance
of a controversial "Song for the Dumped" cover.

A spokesperson said they are big BenFolds fans and felt
that song was representative of how all European's view
Merkel and the austerity measures...but in the end the
DVD player really blew them away."

    Good trading all.
