Why is the market suddenly looking better?

Well I have talked about a cycle low here before so leave that aside.

I'm a very slow learner, I am, but after 30+ years I know markets seem to have a real purpose at month end.

That purpose is to make sure monthly indicators keep the bigger trend intact, if they can.

I suspect this is on behalf of the "whales" who have such huge funds they can't be as nimble as us little minnows.

Of course if they fail then it takes a little while after for them to reposition in the new month. This often causes a bit of a panic then a claw back for a while.

Tonight could be interesting and it probably will be volatile right to the end of month but I am pretty confident the effort will be to push higher.

Warning: the more confident I am, the more likely I'm wrong :-). I think that might apply to all of us.
