Croc raised the question of battery recycling.
Some interesting points:
Ni Li batteries are not economically recyclable at this time due to their propensity to self ignite due to some residual charge in the batteries, so when they are stacked they crush under their own weight, short-out and burn. (remember those Samsung phones). There is no way to extinguish a Li fire as the reaction has its own oxygen supply. Therefore they cannot be stored, trucked or shipped unless individually wrapped.
Recycling the massive batteries may be economic to handle however their life cycle is 10-20 years in the future. Therefore the Li Ni stored in batteries is one-time-use-only at this time!
Another interesting point:
Most world coinage is Copper Nickel, in Aus. the ratio is 75:25 if the Ni & Cu prices keep rising the value of the coins in your pocket will be worth more as scrap than specie.
