"Sure, you have service costs, but they are capped nowadays."

Better read the fine print. Anything outside of "standard" service items (and specific warranty conditions) will cost you. big time.
This concept of "$X includes "everything" for Y years" is a sly marketing tactic, nothing more.
    DYOR!

"Range anxiety", for the vast majority, is generally a baseless figment of their imagination.

How often do the vast majority of people drive 4-500 kms in one hit. Hardly ever.
Typical driven distance is under 40km per day.
Overnight top-up charging is more than sufficient for almost all use cases.
Stopping on a 500km trip, that some people may take a few times a year, for 30-60 minutes, is NOTHING in the scheme of things. Coordinate it with food/stretch/toilet stop and there is ZERO issue.

Imo it's simply a mental hurdle that takes some people longer to comprehend than others. No offence to you personally btw.

Why pay for and haul around an ICE, transmission and petrol tank (and all the associated components), AND an electric motor and battery pack, when all that ultimately does is increase complexity and emissions, compared to a BEV...?

How often do you need 900km in range i.e. must go non-stop? I'd hazard a guess that the answer is never. That "requirement" is only in your head.
With battery prices continuing their declining trajectory, and the continued expansion of charging infrastructure, it won't be very long at all imo before a PHEV makes no sense, even from an upfront cost perspective. Imo perhaps an ok choice, for now, as a form of "transition", but it appears that in only a few years from now, the economics will simply not stack up anymore. Therefore, imo, no point buying a PHEV now IF your ownership horizon is more than a few years.

Sounds like you're enjoying it though! Nice.

    IMO
    DYOR
