I don't think any analysts got the speed of Tesla's execution right - hindsight is a wonderful thing!. Adam Jonas is a long time Tesla bull, but even he greatly underestimated the speed of Tesla's execution, and he is not alone. On the other hand, Elon Musk predictions are often just as wildly over-optimistic on timelines as analyst predictions underestimate what Tesla will achieve. And to be fair to analysts, Tesla's valuation is on a completely different scale to that of any traditional car maker.
A couple of years ago (late 2019) Tesla had only just completed the first stage of its China factory, and was still barely profitable. Jonas predicted that the factory could produce as many as 450,000 cars by 2024/2025, more than most analysts at the time. In practice Tesla has expanded the factory since then and is already producing at an annual rate of 450,000 cars (2021). And two more even larger factories are about to start production - interesting times ahead!
