Some more details on VW's "ACCELERATE" strategy (it applies to the VW brand)

    "Even faster expansion of e-mobility

Volkswagen will once again accelerate the global e-offensive: By 2030, the share of pure e-cars in sales in Europe will increase to over 70 percent - double the previous plan of 35 percent. In the USA and China, the company is aiming for an e share of more than 50 percent in the same period. In addition, Volkswagen brings at least one new BEV model every year: It starts with the all-wheel drive ID.4 GTX in the first half of 2021, followed by the sporty ID.5 in the second half of the year. In the fall comes the ID.6 X / CROZZ, a seven-seater electric SUV for the Chinese market. The plans for an electric car below the ID.3 are being brought forward by two years - to 2025. Volkswagen is continuously optimizing the MEB electric drive kit in terms of acceleration, charging power and range. Volkswagen will also play to its strengths as a platform champion with the next generation of a high-performance, fully electric modular system for flat vehicles, the Scalable Systems platform. Initial use: 2026 in the company's lighthouse project, Trinity.
In parallel to the accelerated e-offensive, the combustion engine fleet will also be further developed. That is why all core models - such as the Golf, Tiguan, Passat, Tayron and T-ROC - will have another successor. Ralf Brandstätter: “We still need the combustion engine for a certain period of time, but as efficiently as possible. That is why the next generation of our core products - all of which are world models - also get the latest generation of plug-in hybrid technology, with an electric range of up to 100 kilometers."
