My electric car was delivered about 6 months ago. It is a Volvo XC40 and a joy to drive. When floored, it flys of the mark and your head hits the headrest. I charge at home with a single phase Zappi (max 32 amps/7.2kW). It has a setting to charge only from solar, so it is free to fill the tank when the sun shines. The opportunity cost is $4 (5.2cents/kWhr feed in tariff missed out on * tank size of 80kWhr).
Regardless of the operational cost, I do not expect to buy a petrol car again this car is better.
