Maybe we should turn that question around and ask 'why would anyone by an ICE vehicle right now?'
Having said that, these Toyota solid state batteries that offer "a range of 1,200km (745 miles)" and a charging time of "10 minutes or less" would be a total game changer and this question probably wouldn't ever come up again after that.
Who wouldn't want a vehicle that has no emissions, that performs like a supercar compared to your average ICE vehicle, and can be filled up more or less for free in your own backyard with a range of over 1000 km?
