Cashed out a small % last year so I could renovate the house and shed. Bought a heap of new tools including several Lithium cordless 18V ones.
I was very skeptical at 1st so initially just got a drill. Was impressed with that and have since got 6 other tools off memory.
I can drill and use the jigsaw all day and I cannot fault the technology at all. Heaps of power, fast charging when needed and TBO they're a game changer over corded hand held tools.
Got a DeWalt 54V concrete cutter today and it's a beast minus the petrol fumes, oil etc.
I'm also assuming if in the future better batteries come out the current ones could be replaced with the new technology.
OK... they're not cars but there is a seriously huge market for these including new lawn mowers and other higher voltage appliances.
Had to laugh.... as there's a video on youtube somewhere of a Makita 18V battery powering a drone.
