"China's NEV retail at 335,000 in Mar 1-17, up 115% from same period last month"

This is a significant recovery from February and as I wrote before it makes sense to not only compare March vs March of last year (when the final results arrive) but also year to date numbers with year to date numbers from last year around the same time:

"Cumulative retail sales of passenger NEVs in China so far this year totaled 1.395 million units, up 42 percent from the same period last year."

There was a singificant drop in January 2023 due to a incentive reduction (NEV purchase tax exemption) in China at the beginning of 2023, which was then reversed sometime later in Summer. So this puts the YoY growth rate into perspective. But 42 % YoY growth year to date is still a pretty good result. But comparing final March numbers with March numbers from 2023 will most likely be the better indicator for the rest of the year.
