Funny how the fake newsers only like certain mining, isn't it ?
If it's for an ev or the renewable industry , it's evil. If it's for the fossil fuel industry it's fine.
Here's a mining number for you.
The world uses 8.5 billion tons of coal per year going on 2016 figures. 8 billion tons. I wonder how that compares to the mining for ev batteries ?
The world use 90 million + barrels of oil per day. Every day. That's over 13 million tons of refined oil per day.
The sad thing about that. Most of that is lost as waste heat.
Resources that take millions of years to accumulate and we are just wasting most of it.
Here's another fun fact.
Cobalt is used in oil refining.
