    ...so if BYD's lithium consumption is 48% of Chile's production (see earlier post) and Tesla's consumption is 93% of BYD's consumption, it means that Chile's production alone can cater entirely to both BYD and Tesla, the No.1 and No 2 EV producers.

    ...no wonder there is so much oversupply!

    End/ Assuming Tesla sells in 2024 as many EVs as in 2023, & using weight sales of Models 3&Y (95%) & Models S&X (5%), & weighted averages of battery capacities of 71kWh & 100kWh, respectively, we estimate #Tesla's consumption of 104,449 mt LCE, 93% of #BYD's #lithium consumption.
