Australia’s lithium miners tracked a fall in Asian lithium stocks on Tuesday following news that Chinese electric vehicle battery maker CATL has restarted production at a major lithium operation.
Liontown Resources posted the largest loss on S&P/ASX 200 on Tuesday afternoon, tumbling as much as 7.6 per cent.. Mineral Resources fell 4.8 per cent and IGO fell 4.1 per cent.
Production at CATL’s lepidolite mine – which has restarted after a five month halt – has sparked concerns of more downward pressure on lithium prices.
