Tesla's sales in California dropped to just 26.1% of its US sales, the lowest level in the last four years. In other words, left-leaning customers are turning away from the Tesla brand. I’ve been considering ways to measure the impact of Elon’s political actions on Tesla sales. One approach is to track whether California's share of Tesla sales has been decreasing over time. If there is a negative impact, it would likely be most noticeable in California, given it’s a left-leaning state. We’ll continue to monitor this percentage and see if it continues to drop in the future. The data for California sales numbers comes from the California New Car Dealers Association (CNCDA). US sales are based on my own calculations.
