I don't think so. Toyota has a history of innovation from the 1950's - the first 30 minutes deals with that.
Hybrid of hydrogen and electric or hydrogen and ice or something else.
I have seen just water engines and just hydrogen as well and these have a zero-carbon footprint.
Maybe they have revisited some of Tesla's old patents involving car engines using no fuel at all - can't be sure if these are crap or real these days.
There has been a change in Musk's attitudes to the Tesla car....... It is a lower priority for a variety of reasons. Maybe that reason is that it is doomed already in its current state but meanwhile there is a company of people needing to feed themselves from it so there is more than the sunk cost to consider.
In any case lithium investments probably have no future.
